Jesus, the lover of your soul!
Do you know this love- His tender touch and sweet words? Or are they as foreign to you as a language you do not know?
Song of Songs 7:10
10 I belong to my beloved,
and his desire is for me.
Psalm 34:8
8 Taste and see that the LORD is good;
blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
What becomes of the man or woman who says they are a Christ follower, yet has not tasted and found that the Lord is good? The one who says they know God but have never sensed and felt His delight and pleasure? The one who has not proved it true over and over again? If that describes you my friend- I have consolatory news for you! You are not alone! I dare say that most people who claim to be religious or go a step further and call themselves Christians or Spiritually minded, have no idea what I am talking about.
I was one of them! Though, not at first. When I was a new believer over 30 years ago, I did get a taste of His love- His sweet fellowship. But as “life happened” and failed to go as I hoped and dreamed it would, my heart became hard and my poser came to the forefront. My “poser” was quite “The Man”. He had all the answers, priding himself on his ability to fix all the pour and broken souls around him! He focused his “powers” on the needy and less fortunate, appearing to care, to empathize to understand. Now, before I appear to throw my poser out with the bath water- I must clarify! The tricky thing about the poser is this- it is you, but it is the flawed, broken and unredeemed you! It is the prideful, self centered you- the taker- the manipulator- the controler- the user! The thing is, I did care about people but in my brokenness and sin was unequipped to really help. I have since learned this-
Wounded Souls Wound!
Healed Souls Heal!
Jeremiah 31:3
3 The LORD appeared to us in the past,[a] saying:
“I have loved you with an everlasting love;
I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.”
In order to truly know the love of Jesus I described above, we must first realize that we are sick and wounded and in desparate need of “The Divine Physician”. We must bring our wounded and broken hearts to Him and be healed. Realizing that we can’t save or fix ourselves – that we are truly helpless and hopeless – THAT WE NEED A SAVIOUR!! And the reality my friend is this! There is only ONE, and you are not it!
I heard a great definition of insanity- insanity is trying the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result!
John 10:10
10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.- Jesus of Nazareth
I close this confessional with a song by Tenth Avenue North and a devotional from Streams in the Desert-
Peace, Jonathan
On And On
Love, I have waited for you
And love, I was wounded for you
Won’t you look into my eyes
Through the pain and through your pride
And find I am true
You’re the one I can’t deny
And I’ll never leave your side
I gave my life for you
So what are you waiting for?
On and on we go
Come love take my hand
On and on we go
Time and time again
On and on we go
Back to where this all began
Come love take my hand
Life is waiting for you
And life I have given to you
Tell me what else can I do
What more have I left to prove?
That I am what you need
Still I will hold on to your heart

Through the chaos and the dark
When your eyes fail to see
So what are you waiting for?
On and on we go
Come love take my hand
On and on we go
As you run away again
On and on we go
Back to where this all began
Broken I was for you
Broken I’m still for you
My broken heart breaks for you
Broken I’m over you
On and on we go
Come love take my hand
On and on we go
Time and time again
On and on we go
Back to where this all began
Come love take my hand
Come love take my hand
God is Waiting Upon Us
“And therefore will the Lord wait, that he may be gracious unto you…blessed are all they that wait f or him” (Isa. 30:18).
We must not only think of our waiting upon God, but also of what is more wonderful still, of God’s waiting upon us. The vision of Him waiting on us, will give new impulse and inspiration to our waiting upon Him. It will give us unspeakable confidence that our waiting cannot be in vain. Let us seek even now, at this moment, in the spirit of waiting on God, to find out something of what it means. He has inconceivably glorious purposes concerning every one of His children. And you ask, “How is it, if He waits to be gracious, that even after I come and wait upon Him, He does not give the. help I seek, but waits on longer and longer?”
God is a wise husbandman, “who waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it.” He cannot gather the fruit till it is ripe. He knows when we are spiritually ready to receive the blessing to our profit and His glory. Waiting in the sunshine of His love is what will ripen the soul for His blessing. Waiting under the cloud of trial, that breaks in showers of blessings, is as needful. Be assured that if God waits longer than you could wish, it is only to make the blessing doubly precious. God waited four thousand years, till the fullness of time, ere He sent His Son. Our times are in His hands; He will avenge His elect speedily; He will make haste for our help, and not delay one hour too long.
