Widows mite- Giving All You Have
Mark 12:41-44
The Widow’s Offering
41 Jesus sat down near the collection box in the Temple and watched as the crowds dropped in their money. Many rich people put in large amounts. 42 Then a poor widow came and dropped in two small coins.[a]
43 Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I tell you the truth, this poor widow has given more than all the others who are making contributions. 44 For they gave a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she had to live on.”
Matthew 10:39
39 If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it.
What shall it profit a man…. If he Gains the whole world,,,,, riches, fame, power, glory. And forfeits his own SOUL in the process. ? OR WHAT SHALL A MAN GIVE IN EXCHANGE FOR HIS SOUL?
Matthew 16:
26 And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?[a] Is anything worth more than your soul?
Matthew 13
44 “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure that a man discovered hidden in a field. In his excitement, he hid it again and sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field.
Life is not about the Benjamin’s – yet this is what the multitudes strive after-. Base their identity , success , happiness and value on.
May I suggest that our truest identity is not in the green “In God We Trust” but the Crimson Cross of Calvary.
Where the perfect blood of the Lamb of God was shed- Rendering Death and The Curse powerless for those who believe.
No greater love is there than a man lay down his life for his friends.
BUT, I would be remiss, if I did not take it a step further.
While we were alienated , separated from God because of our sin – CHRIST DIED FOR US!
What do you say to a love like that ?
In conclusion, I will say that a persons truest identity – is found in relationship with a carpenters son from Nazareth who said. “When you have seen me , you have seen the Father. ”

Money or anything other than Jesus is a temporary fix to an eternal problem. Choose YE this day .. Whom YE will serve, God or money.
Or as the great preacher , Bob Dylan said, ” Ya gotta serve somebody , it may be the Devil or it may be the Lord ….. But your gonna serve somebody.! CHOOSE WISELY!
